Reality check.

Reality check in effect.

I was talking on the phone with a friend last night, and I blew her mind.  Maybe it will blow yours too.

We were discussing this culture and where it comes from.  My friend is trying to understand spirituality but doesn’t read a lot like I do, so there is quite a gap in knowledge between us.  If only my friend knew that spirituality and increasing awareness are one in the same.  It’s not a matter of being right or wrong; it is a matter of actually looking into things BEFORE forming an opinion.  It helped me greatly to unlearn the indoctrination of my life by looking at where this culture we are steeped in comes from.  Let’s apply that question that saves our lives; why do we do what we do?

Before we continue it is really important to understand something.  What I am going to be discussing is the use of a toilet.  Am I wrong, that by mentioning what I am going to write about, the toilet, that one already has in their mind the reasons for which a toilet is used?  Everyone has an opinion about the toilet. But honestly, how many of you have actually looked into this or even care, so put your opinions away.  Suspend them and be comfortable in not knowing. Be curious.

Let’s look at the facts first, and then develop an opinion.  The reasons this culture uses a toilet is quite misleading.  It is quite common in this culture to ignore a whole bunch of evil because of small good.  My favorite metaphor in regards to this is the rapist, Johnny, who uses a condom.  Condoms are good right?  They stop disease and pregnancy, but do we excuse the rape for this small amount of good?  If you look into, this phenomenon happens a lot. Huge numbers of people get consistently raped in one way or another in the name of some small good. People have all kinds of reasons in their mind why they use a toilet, but I don’t really know many who actually know, and almost all of them are flat out ignoring the evilness of it. Am I wrong? Almost everyone reading this is going to say the toilet was made for sanitation purposes. Most people think it has something to do with being clean.  Hopefully I am about to change that.

As humans we have been evolving for millions of years.  The way in which we work anatomically really doesn’t change with technology or knowledge. I'm sure we could find something that shows that humans have overall gotten weaker physically due to technological inventions, but it wouldn't be significant enough to change our actual appearance or the way in which we work physiologically. Nothing about our technological advancements has changed that. If anything one could make a case that technology has hampered us, and taking a crap sitting upright on a toilet makes for a perfect case in point.

This has been researched quite well.  Anatomically speaking, the best possible way to take a crap is to squat. Having the legs pressed against our abdomen while pooping makes the whole process easier. It can be broken down quite technically. Most people I know have never in their whole life taken a crap the way in which they were designed to.  Maybe once? By sheer bad luck, a dooky hit you when there was no bathroom in sight? Probably as a kid? Who reading this has ever consistently for even a week squatted outside like a good monkey?

There would not be half the cases of hemorrhoids if people still squatted over a hole to crap.

So what is this business about a toilet?  Believe it or not, one day a king decided he was so much better than everyone else that he had a toilet installed so that he would not have to squat like the rest of us monkeys.  What an ego.  Keep in mind I am purposefully not being historically correct because I am speaking of this particular culture in which we live. Toilets have been in multiple cultures, ages, and times.  It is a matter of understanding the ego in our particular culture.  A king decided he was unfit to squat.  Squatting to poop was too pleb. Somehow being a king means one is no longer anatomically designed to squat?  How did being a king suddenly make one not a human primate?  What an ego.  The common people were too poor to have a toilet, but because the king did, everyone else wanted to too.

What pleb worth his weight in salt doesn't want in the palace?

I can already hear the opinions.  Sanitation, cleanliness, diseases, etc. To me, that is merely wearing a condom while raping the culture of its true ways.  Can you who had this opinion, cleanliness and disease, not wrap your mind around the fact that ridding poop from proximity does not require us to poop in an anatomically incorrect position. Can you not wrap your mind around the idea that there are other ways of removing feces from our proximity without changing the way we evolved for millions of years to poop? Can you say, or find anyone, who is now genetically different due to the advent of the kingly toilet? We could be clean and safe while pooping and not be an ego maniac at the same time.  The toilet could have been designed just as easily where we would still be allowed to squat.

The issue isn’t sanitation.  The issue is the effect of an ego maniac on the masses.

We have the ability to handle it correctly, but instead continue to habitually perpetuate the ignorance of an ego maniac.  No one I know even knows. What is the Noam Chomsky quote, "they don't even know that they do not know." I don’t want to sit upright when I crap because I realize that it is unhealthy for me, but am forced too because of, once again, an ego maniac.  An ego maniac that died how long ago is still affecting our lives? Quite negatively too. My friend on the phone attempted to act like there would be something wrong with me taking a crap outside like the monkey I am. Indoctrination in effect.

That is only half of it. We've only begun to deep think.

One of my favorite things to do, to check my own status, is to say things clearly and out loud in a factual way.  For instance, how can I say I live a good life, and at the same time take a crap in clean drinking water while there are millions in the world who do not have access to fresh drinking water.  Say it out loud, right now, “Millions of people just like me don’t have clean water to drink, but I purposefully shit in perfectly good drinking water.”  Can you see how that king, whom you had no idea about until just a minute ago, fucking got you? Saying this out loud I am suddenly confronted with the ego maniac king in me.  There I am, literally every day, sitting upright, taking a shit in clear drinking water, while poor starving people go without. Without even trying, without even wishing too, I am an ego maniac, simply for prescribing to a culture designed by ego maniacs. We call this normal? I am habitually perpetuating a very disturbing behavior.  Doesn’t really matter if one likes to hear it or not; every time we flush a turd down with some clean water we are pretty much, with our actions, saying fuck the person who is dying of thirst. Just like that king said; fuck plebs.

Can you see it?  Go tell people you refuse to crap in clean water and that from now on you will only dooky outside in a hole in the ground like the monkey you are.  Watch their faces recoil, watch how they suddenly think something is very wrong with you, much like I would imagine that ego maniac king would have done.  It's 2018 and I still get crazy looks when I say I don't eat red meat. Somehow pooping the way we evolved to poop has been turned into a bad thing.  The ego mania of one single king has turned an entire culture into ego maniacs.  If that king was so great and awesome as he wishes to believe he was he would have been acting righteously, freeing his people from suffering.

Think about it.  This is just one small thing we do because of an ego maniac. Just one. How many others are there? I could have stayed on the phone all night long listing the things we do because some ego maniac decided it was so, and the masses just blindly swallowed it whole. More than a few books. We are still swallowing it whole. Looking back on the European culture that we come from, we don’t really do anything correctly, yet almost everyone is walking around like they are educated and know what is best.

Who isn’t an ego maniac?

Do not believe me?  Look into the founding of this country.  The founders were dealing with the same cultural issues that we are now.  They are exactly the same issues, but with technology.  Those powerful men, had not themselves, undone the indoctrination. They just passed the buck.  Ego maniacs rule the world.  They merely changed the curtains of their prison cells, they changed the names; they never broke free of the prison itself.

Now, where was that mirror?

Forgetting

Forgetting.

I am going to lay out a few phenomenon and then in the end I will bring it all together.  Bear with me.

The first is the case of the separated fraternal twins.  Born near the same time, giving them practically the same personalities, they were cause for study.  Later in life they were studied by researchers.  Both twins were perfectionists, but had different reasons for being so.  They had created reasons in their minds for being perfectionists.  One blamed his adopted mother who was a perfectionist; the other blamed his adopted mother because she was lazy.  The one said she ingrained it in him, the other said he was compensating for her.

Please take a moment and let that sink in.  We too, you and I, create stories for why we are the way we are, yet in reality; we just are!  There was no reason for the twins’ perfectionism other than being born when they were, yet their stories were quite profound explaining why they were the way they were.  They were living their whole lives believing a lie.  Make sure to see this in yourself.

The second is the case of a woman’s sense of smell.  Some researchers got a bunch of men to wear the same cloths for a week.  No showers, no personal products, nothing but accumulating their own scent.  They then asked women to smell these men and report which one smelled the best to them.  It turned out that the women choose the man with the most opposite immune system.  Women found the man who would cause their children to have the best immune system to be the best smelling.  Turns out women on the pill get it wrong.  Please take a moment and let this sink in.  If a woman’s sense of smell dictates which man smells the best, what are her other senses dictating?  If hormones are off, out of whack, via the pill, they get it wrong and choose the wrong guy.  I have never known a woman to consciously think about these things while she is in the act of being attracted to a man.  Think about this.  Take a moment and let that sink it.  We have no real idea why we are attracted to the people we are attracted to.  We merely create a story after the fact of why it is so.  Forever after living a lie.

The third phenomenon is the case of the lessons learned.  I was recently talking to a friend and she was telling me how she met her first boyfriend.  She was describing all the reasons she was attracted and what not to her first love, why she liked him, why she thought it happened.  For her it has been over ten years, so looking back she can clearly see what went wrong.  But can she?  What about ten years from now and she looks back again on the man she is with now.  What will she say?  Will she realize like she does looking back on her teenage self that she did not really know what was going on?  What prevents her from seeing it in herself now, that she doesn’t know what is going on with her current relationship anymore than she did then.  She is just creating a different story.

You see, in her mind, like the perfectionist twins, she was creating a story about why she was doing what she was doing.  The truth is she has no idea why she was doing it.  Her psyche wanted to be with a boy, but the choosing of that was not ever really up to her conscious mind.  Her unconscious mind was practically in full control.  Our unconscious minds always are.  Her conscious mind was merely creating the story after the fact.  Who is conscious of what our sense of smell tells us?  It would be foolish to think it only detects another’s immune system.  What about the other senses?

What about our life stories?  How can we believe our memories are real after realizing these things?  If we are going to be honest with ourselves; we can’t.  So what are we to do if our memories are false?  I found the answer in spiritual books.  They call it living in the moment.  In order to live in the moment one cannot be consciously dwelling in the past.  No comparing, labeling, judgments, or thoughts.  One cannot use the past as a gauge in the present.  Re-read it again if you need to; your memories are false.

In my own life I have let the past destroy so many good times it’s not fathomable.  Being afraid.  Insecure.  Bitter.  Mean.  All because of a story in my mind, created by my conscious mind, that imposed a lie on the present moment.  This culture forced its labeling system into my mind.  Forever after forcing me to create lies upon lies, constructing story after story.

Being abused as a child, I am not willing to say that it didn’t happen.  There is some play here on the word memory.  Our unconscious minds remember everything; literally everything.  Your unconscious mind is aware of every single little detail regarding your physical surroundings at all times.  Here is the difference between the minds though.  The subconscious mind does not reason.  To the unconscious mind things simply are.  It cannot inductively reason.  It is the conscious mind that distorts everything.  The abuse I suffered did happen, but the story in my mind did not.  My friend did meet a boy when she was 16, but the story in her mind about why did not happen.  You will have to draw this line out on your own, within your own mind.  It is important to do so if you wish to live in the moment.

Maybe you are like me and are in your thirties.  Looking back on those memories is as common a thing as anything we do.  I clearly remember my first love at 16.  I had no clue what was going on.  Thinking on my friend, reminiscing about her first love, she had no idea what was going on either.  The issue is that if you were to talk to her, she will speak as if she did.  Don’t we all do this?  But right here in our face is this truth; we don’t.  We don’t even know the power of our own sense of smell.  What else does it tell us about the world around us that only the unconscious mind knows?   What about all of our other senses?

The only way out of this mess is to stop thinking.  Or at the very least come to terms with the severe limitations of thinking.  So many people in the world believe that the thinking part of their mind is actually their mind.  They identify with it so much that they end up fooled into believing it is them.  It’s not true.  The thinking part of our mind is less than 1% of what is going on.  It’s not even close to who we are.  Thinking is just a tiny minuscule little part of the totality that is our mind.

You!  Whoever you are, you are not your thinking!  You are so much more than that it isn’t fathomable to your thinking.  If you realized the truth regarding the total effects of your mind all the rest of the world would call you a god.
